So what do you think of this place? So far, I like it here.

My wife, Jen, built this blog for me because I am in the process of editing my first book in The Chosen of the Light series, Spirit Summoner, an e-Book publication to be released later this year by Wild Child Publishing.

In the coming weeks, I will be adding content to my various pages. I'll talk about myself a little, about writing, about gaming and my passion for fantasy RPG's, and about kids and parenting. You can navigate the site by clicking on the tabs above to take you to my different blogs.

By all means, read along and I will share with you what I know. If you have comments or suggestions, please don't hesitate to say something. I'm more than happy to play along!

Latest round of edits are off to Shawn for scrutiny! I can't wait to hear how she likes this latest revision.

My apologies for the lack of updates lately. My life outside of writing has been pretty chaotic between my family and my day job. I'm steadily plugging away at edits though and making good progress. I've got about a hundred pages left to go. I'm getting really excited about how it's all turning out!

I'm about to head back to work on yet another round of edits. I'm hoping it will move along much faster this time. I'll keep this page updated with my editing progress as information becomes available!

Chopped down to 99,400 words, I sent my manuscript back off to my editor for another round of edit. Hopefully, this will be my last one before going to the proofers. I'm still a couple months away from publication, but it's coming up quick. I can't wait to share this story with everyone; I feel like it's so much stronger now after all this editing.

After a bout of the flu, I'm back on track with my editing. Spirit Summoner is tightening up day by day. I'm feeling really good about the changes. I've cut out almost 5k words since last week, and you might think I'm losing a ton of story or detail, but so not true. Less filler words, clearer details, and faster paced action...it's all coming together!

The new year is upon us, and with it, another round of editing to do. I've been deep in it, but I think my story is going to be so much better as a result. I can't wait to share it in the months ahead!

My editor is beginning a line-by-line edit of my manuscript. It might be a couple weeks before she gets it back to me, but this brings me one more step closer to publishing. If I'm understanding it correctly, after I make my changes to the line-by-line edits, it will go to the proofed before publishing, so yah!

All edits are finished and turned in. My second round of edits are complete!

The second phase of editing is rapidly coming to a close. As of tonight, I'm over 70% done with edits. My editor says this is the most difficult phase, so I hope that this brings me much closer to publication. It has been a long couple of weeks, and I'm anxious to be finished with rewriting.

I'm almost to the halfway mark on the edits for Spirit Summoner. In case anyone's wondering, I'm basically chopping up some of my words and throwing them away, which is why it's taking so long. A lot of rewriting is involved. Strangely, I've always loved this part of writing. Some people get so attached to the words. Not me. The words are just a means of telling a story. If my story is unclear because of the words, I'm completely happy to change those words to make the story stronger.
